Another one bites the dust...

The episode was cut last night sans the interview with Michael. We were having extreme technical difficulties with our recording software. Apparently it pays to keep everything running on the same version and check to make sure it's all compatible more than about 30 seconds before you're ready to start recording.

Oh well, it's now being called the toro episode.

Smoke 'em if you've got 'em.

Can't wait to hear this show. I was looking forward to hearing the Cuban expert Michael on the show, but I guess that'll have to wait.

Hi Josh and Erik,

As luck would have it, the first podcast of CIGAR NATION I heard was the now infamous TORO episode! Even though it was only 30 minutes long, I thought you guys did a fine job. I enjoyed your roundup of the news - particularly the parts about pending legislation around the country. Don't be afraid to call out these asswipes in the State Legislature who attach their names to these bills. I am dumbfounded when I hear that these liberal do-gooders have the arrogance to say that private clubs cannot allow smoking. I've seen more and more of this "I know better what is right for you" mentality coming from the left. Our Iowa Governor, Chet Culver (who we now refer to as "King Chet") pushed for and got a $1 per pack tax increase in March - which of course spills right over to every other form of tobacco. His reasoning? The usual garbage about it being "for the children" and that this will discourage kids from smoking. This is a crock, of course, because all of the teen's spending is discretionary, and if they want to buy a pack of cigarettes, they will, whether a pack is $3 or $5. Better yet, they'll just sneak a Newport out of Mom's purse and avoid the tax altogether!

Keep up the good work. I'll be listening.

P.S. Give the Perdomo Fresco a try - it's an excellent stick for about $2 retail.

John
