11 Cigars, 1 week

It's been a rough week, I've been forced to smoke a lot of cigars.

I smoked the Gurkha Estate Selection Vintage Monday night, it was a rather uneventful cigar. I smoked a Hoyo de Montterey Larga Elegante maduro last night, it was good as always.

I smoked the new Camacho Select Corojo yesterday. It wasn't too shabby for a corojo. It kept with the Camacho tradition of being a STROOOOOOOONG cigar. I did get some harshness with it, which seems to be in the Camacho tradition as well. I can definitely find smokes I like much better for $12.35. Although I am dying to try the new Triple Maduro (Maduro wrapper, binder and filler) in a couple weeks when it comes out.

I'm smoking a CAO MX2 right now. I remember when these things used to be good. It's quite possibly the most inconsistent cigar on the market. Some cigars will always be good, some will always be shitty... And you can count on that. With this one, it might be good, it might be shitty. Right now this particular one is somewhere right in the middle. I'm not really getting a good maduro flavor from it and it's burn is about as predictable as an out of control wildfire.

Josh,

When I'm Hudson tomorrow, I'll be swinging by SCCC for the first time. I'm looking to try out a Perdomo Fresco Maduro, but I'm not really sure what Maduro means, other than darker color and a more robust flavor profile (?). Am I close on this? Thanks!

Just picked up a fresco maduro today in the churchill size. In my newbie-ness, I didn't realize it was a churchill until I got outside the shop. I sincerely hope it doesn't kick my ass too bad...I'll be sure to let you all know. Hehe.

So has the show officially been cancelled?

No, I think it's safe to say that it is not being cancelled. Josh invited me down to the St. Croix Cigar Co. to meet them and hang out while they did a taping. Unfortunately bad weather followed by a splitting headache kept me from attending. Maybe next time.

Josh, let me know when you guys swing through Hudson again? Sorry I missed you this time around.

The taping of The Cigar Nation was cancelled last week due to many circumstances.

However, the entire show has not been cancelled... what are you guys thinking?

Josh,

11 cigars in one week. What brand of wuss did you stock up on. Cripes I smoked 7 in one day a couple of years ago. Come on buddy. Some Saturday you and I will have to meet at Stogies on Grand and do 10 in one day. No Macanudos either. We'll smoke good cigars for real men. i.e. Joya De Nicuragua or how ever you spell the damn thing.
